The Health Ministries Department of the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission (TCIM) in conjunction with the Kew Seventh-day Adventist Church held its annual health expo on the island of North Caicos on March 13, 2017. Approximately 55 individuals came out to benefit from the services that were offered free of charge. Participants were able to get their blood pressure and body mass index checked and they were also allowed to sample healthy vegetarian food.

“The community was glad to receive us and they want to know how to cook the vegetarian dishes. I will be holding a cooking class in North Caicos very soon.” said Nora Tyndall, TCIM Health Ministries Director.

Desryn Richmond, a member of the Kew Seventh-day Adventist Church was elated by the community’s response to the Heath Expo, she said, “It was another amazing experience bringing awareness to the community about healthy lifestyle. The program saw greater community participation this year.  The Sampling of vegetarian dishes; sharing of health literature, fitness tips and simple advices, were well received. Health Expo 2017 was very informative and we certainly look forward to another program, another time.”
