The Officers of the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission were elected at the Second Quinquennial Session of the Atlantic Caribbean Union Mission, held at the Centreville Seventh-day Adventist Church on December 6-7, 2015 in Nassau, Bahamas.

Pastor Michael A. Smith was re-elected president of the Mission. Commenting on his re-election Pastor Smith said, “I am very humbled and grateful to the Lord God Almighty for the grace and opportunity to serve Him and the members of the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission (TCIM) once again. As we chart our way forward, may we continue to hold fast to the Captain of our Salvation, Jesus Christ, knowing that our best years are before us. We are determined to become a conference while pressing together for a finished work”.

Pastor Steve Cornwall was voted as Executive Secretary of TCIM. Previously he served as Personal Ministries and Sabbath School Director of the North East Jamaica Conference (NEJC). He is also a past Youth Director of NEJC.  Pastor Cornwall returned to the Mission with his wife, who is a native of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and their son in September 2015.

Ms. Simone Gilkes, a member of the Blue Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she also serves as Auditor and who has worked in the private industry as a professional accountant for many years, was elected as Mission Treasurer.

“The election and appointment of these two persons of experience will strengthen and move our Mission to the next level of development. I look forward to our working together”, said Pastor Smith.

The mission wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Hopeton Bansie who served as Mission Treasurer from 2008-2015 and also held the position of Executive Secretary, Publishing Director and Book & Nutrition Centre Manager for several years.

“Bro. Bansie was a hardworking, committed, and conscientious fellow Administrator. He was very dependable and dedicated to the work of God. He is a very caring person. His insightful advice will always be appreciated. We pray God’s continual blessings upon him and his wife, Pastor Anastacia Bansie”, said Pastor Smith.

We wish to congratulate the Officers and pray for God’s guidance as they seek to lead His work in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
