President, Turks and Caicos Mission of Seventh-day Adventists

Pastor Michael Smith originally hails from Bermuda but is a Bahamian citizen and has served as a district pastor and evangelist in the Cayman Islands (Mission) Conference (1983-1986), the Bahamas Conference (1986-2006) in various departmental positions and pastor/evangelist and the North Bahamas Conference (2006-2010) as Executive Secretary, Departmental Director and district pastor/evangelist.

During his many years of ministry, Pastor Smith has served as a Colporteur (Literature Evangelist), District Pastor/Evangelist and Departmental Director. In fact, his departmental posts have included Director for Church Ministries, Stewardship, Education, Family Ministries, Public Affairs & Religious Liberty, Community Services, Communications, Personal Ministries and Ministerial. He has through the years served as a member of various boards and executive committees.

Pastor Smith holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hon. Business Administration) and a Bachelor of Science Degree (Psychology & Social Studies) from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; and a Master of Divinity Degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He has further done post-graduate doctoral studies in ministry at Andrews University.

Pastor Smith was elected President of the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission Of Seventh-day Adventists at the inaugural session of the Atlantic Caribbean Union Mission (ACUM) on November 29, 2010.

He is married to the former Lynn C. Antonio of Nassau, Bahamas. Mrs. Smith is a fourth generation Seventh-day Adventist; educator, former principal of Bahamas Academy, Grand Bahama Academy and Cayman Islands Academy. She is also a former Women?s Ministries Director of the Bahamas Conference, Administrative Assistant, and is an accomplished singer/musician. Together God has blessed them with the most wonderful children, namely, Nashanda and son-in-law Errol, Shanae, Dawn and grandson Nathan Michael Leslie.
