Turks and Caicos Islands Mission 40 days of Prayer 2015-2016

Praying for: The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Unity and The upcoming Mission Session with all its concerns

Focus is on Oneness: John 17:21
“That they may be one; as Thou, Father, art in me and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.”

Using the theme for the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission, Lord Transform Me for Your Glory, the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission Prayer Ministry, focusing on oneness, begin its 40 Days of Prayer Initiative, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 and end Sunday, January 31, 2016, in preparation for the Turks and Caicos Islands Mission Session to be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016.

During this period each member will choose a prayer partner, praying each day, and claiming Matthew 18:19, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

Each Church and Pastoral District should participate in this initiative as we pray for:

  1. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
  2. Unity
  3. The Mission Session and all related concerns

During these 40 days our prayer focus will be on ONENESS.

“Having the character of Christ, we can carry on the work of God together. The Christ in us will meet the Christ in our brethren, and the Holy Spirit will give that union of heart and action which testifies to the world that we are children of God. May the Lord help us to die to self and be born again, that Christ may live in us, a living, active principle, a power that will keep us holy.

Strive earnestly for unity. Pray for it, work for it. It will bring spiritual health, elevation of thought, nobility of character, heavenly-mindedness, enabling you to overcome selfishness and evil surmisings, and to be more than conquerors through Him that loved you and gave Himself for you. Crucify self; esteem others better than yourselves. Thus you will be brought into oneness with Christ. Before the heavenly universe, and before the church and the world, you will bear unmistakable evidence that you are God’s sons and daughters. God will be glorified in the example that you set.

The world needs to see worked out before it the miracle that binds the hearts of God’s people together in Christian love. It needs to see the Lord’s people sitting together in heavenly places in Christ. Will you not give in your lives an evidence of what the truth of God can do for those who love

and serve Him? God knows what you can be. He knows what divine grace can do for you if you will be partakers of the divine nature”. EGW – Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 9, pp. 187-188

This initiative is to bring us closer to Christ and to each other, being filled with the Holy Spirit.

How strong is your Faith:

Christ says, ‘Ask. And ye shall receive. In these words, Christ gives us direction as to how we should pray. We are to come to our heavenly Father with the simplicity of a child, asking Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus says again, ‘When ye pray, believe that ye receive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.’ You are to come to the Father repenting and confessing your sins, emptying the soul of every sin and defilement, and it is your privilege to prove the promises of the Lord….We are to believe the word of God; for the test of character is found in the fact that you are building yourselves up in the most holy faith. You are proved of God through the word of God. You are not to wait for wonderful emotions before you believe that God has heard you; feeling is not to be your criterion, for emotions are as changeable as the clouds….While on earth, we can have help from heaven….for I have tested God a thousand times. I will walk out by faith, I will not dishonour my Saviour by unbelief.” Review and Herald, Oct. 11, 1892, “Need of Dependence on God – How to Pray”, paragraphs: 1,3,and 6.

Ask God to help you believe and have faith that He has heard and will answer.

“Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.” Corrie ten Boom
“God may pass by our elaborate programs and outstanding talents, but He will never pass by the prostrate form of an intercessor.” A. A. Wilson

“When the devil sees a man or woman who really believes in prayer, who knows how to pray, and who really does pray, and, above all, when he sees a whole church on its face before God in prayer, “he trembles” as much as he ever did, for he knows that his day in that church or community is at an end.” R.A. Torrey

“The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s standing challenge, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not!” J. Hudson Taylor

May you be tremendously blessed as we pray through these 40 days of prayer. We believe that the lives of those you pray for will be changed and this Mission Session will be a life changing experience for the people of God and for the nation on a whole.

Join us, and watch God do great and marvelous things because we prayed.
