About Us
The Turks and Caicos Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists serves as the parent organization that provides administrative, evangelistic and nurturing support for Seventh-day Adventist Churches in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream, Bible-believing, protestant denomination with a presence in almost all countries of the world.
The Advent message arrived in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1906, when the first group of Sabbath Keepers were discovered in Grand Turk by a Colporteur from Jamaica named Phillip Porter. However it was not until forth years after that a church would be organized. This congregation was organized by Pastor Gordon Prenier in Grand Turk in a warehouse that was purchased on Front Street.
Today the Mission is comprised of eight churches and two companies and is divided into four districts. The Mission also operates a high school on the Island of Providenciales.
Presently the Mission’s human resources consist of five pastoral workers, a Treasurer, an Administrative Assistant and several volunteer workers who hold various departments in the mission.
